Season 14 has a bit of a habit of dragging you from one activity to another, and the hunt ties into that loop more than most players expect. If you are working through Across the Threshold, the real goal is simple: track down a Realmwalker, finish the event, and get into the Deathtoll Chamber without wasting time on the wrong spawn. A lot of people hear the quest name and assume it is a long story step, but in practice it is more of a world-event chase with a boss fight at the end.
How the Realmwalker event actually shows upThe safest way to find the Realmwalker is still the world event area southeast of Zarbinzet. When the Whisper icon pops there, head over and join in. That route is much cleaner than hoping a Surging Rupture happens to roll in your favour. In those Rupture events, you are basically waiting on luck. If the Zarbinzet event is live, though, you can get moving right away and stop circling the map.
Once you are in the event, the job is to keep three Ruptures active and handled for the required time. Solo it if you want, sure, but it feels better with a few other players nearby. People tend to split up naturally, and that makes the whole thing smoother. When each Rupture is completed, you will see the check on the minimap, and that is your cue to move on.
Fighting the Realmwalker and opening the chamberAfter the Rupture phase, the Realmwalker drops into the middle of the arena. This is not a fight where you need to flex on a high Torment setting. If you just want the quest done, drop the difficulty and keep it clean. The main thing to watch for is the spawned pillars or spires. Kill them fast. If you leave them standing, they can turn into extra trouble, and nobody wants to deal with that while the boss is still alive.
When the Realmwalker goes down, a portal opens to the Deathtoll Chamber. Go through it. Inside, the pace changes a little. You kill enemies, the ritual circle grows, and the room slowly opens up as you clear more of it. It is not complicated, just busy. Speak with Dannica after the chamber objective is done, and the quest will wrap up properly.
Why players keep coming back to this loopAcross the Threshold matters because it is not just a one-off quest. It nudges you into the wider Season 14 system, where Superior Lair Keys, Pandemonium Fragments, and boss farming all start to connect. The Deathtoll Chamber can drop useful bits, and the Zarbinzet boss chest is one of the noted ways to get a Pandemonium Fragment. The catch is access. You need the right key, and that means running Lair Bosses, Superior Lair Bosses, invasion-style encounters, or the Realmwalker route over and over if you are unlucky.
What to do after the quest is doneAfter you finish Across the Threshold, the same route still makes sense if you are chasing more materials. Nightmare Dungeon Escalations, Lair Boss farming, and Helltide loops all feed into the same seasonal economy, and that is where the grind really starts to show. If you are putting together a fresh setup or trying to stay ahead of the next boss run, it helps to keep an eye on good while you farm, since the right drop can save you a lot of backtracking.
